25,000+ signatures generated!
That's right, as of today, we finally hit the 25,000 mark for the amount of signatures created with our Super Smash Bros. Brawl Signature Generator. Quite the amount, I must say. Never, when I created this site, did I ever think it would reach such popularity. And so, I must thank all the users and fans who have made such a milestone possible, and I hope that many more sigs will be created. ; )

In other news, I've been busy working on a couple other of my sites, but I plan to spend some time developing a new feature for TheBrawl.net very shortly. Maybe even two new features, never know. =P These shouldn't be expected for another couple weeks, however.

Well, that's it for this quick announcement.

Signature Generator Updated, and Looking for Staff!
That's right, after a lot of requests, the Super Smash Bros. Brawl Signature Generator has finally been updated. With this is included signatures for ALL characters: Yes, Game and Watch, Ganondorf, Rob and Jiggly included. A new feature included with this update is the ability to change the font colour of your text, as it appears on the signatures using a colour picker. The general layout of the sig gen has been changed a bit too, but I'm sure users will find it just as easy to navigate.

Now, I apologize for the lack of updates - it's been one busy month. And without any active staff working on TheBrawl.Net, just about the entire work load falls onto myself, with the exception of some signature creation going to users on the forums. What am I hinting to? Well, all I'm saying is that we're currently looking for staff members to help out with content. You don't need to be full-time - we're just looking for people who can contribute once in a blue moon. Think you fit the description? Then register on our forums and give me a pm, or email me at danielst.jules[ at sign ]gamexe.net. (forums is recommend as it ensures it doesn't get lost in the spam) Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, and enjoy the updated Signature Generator.

Also, for those who may be interested, GameSpot has begun a Super Smash Bros. Brawl tournament. The prizes are gift cards for Best Buy, and first place takes home $700, 2nd place $250, and 3rd $50. You can sign up for the event and read on by going to:

More Avatars and New Soundtrack!
Over 50 new avatars have been added to the Free Avatars page, with many more expected soon. They are currently available in two set dimensions, 80 by 80 and 90 by 90 pixels. In the future, however, other sizes may be added, including 100 by 100 pixels or other popular dimensions.

Also, a new Sountrack page has been added to the site, which contains a flash mp3 player containing the full Super Smash Bros. Brawl soundtrack. Please note that the songs have been optimized for improved download speeds using one's browser, and that the original songs are of a higher quality. However, better quality versions of the songs may be added later on.
Hope you enjoy this little update.

Staff, Items and More!
First of all, I'd like to welcome a new staff member to the team: Jason! He'll be helping out with various content on TheBrawl.Net and with his help, the site should come along much quicker.

Of course, if others are interested in assisting with TheBrawl.Net, whether as staff or just by contributing a bit of content, then please feel free to register on the forums and send a PM my way. ; )

Also, I'd like to add that the items section is now up and running. It provides a list of all normal items, assist trophies, poke balls and subspace items as well as descriptions of each. It can be accessed by clicking the appropriate link in the left navigation.

Finally, the Signature Generator is coming along nicely. All characters have been added as secondary and tertiary options, although not all main designs have been included. The designs of other characters will be included throughout the week, so check back often.
That's all for now.

TheBrawl.Net is Back and More!
After a few days of downtime, TheBrawl.Net is back and kicking. What made us disappear for a bit? Well, we had experienced some misunderstandings with our web host, although now that all that's been fixed, users shouldn't have to worry about such lengthy periods of downtime.

In other news - it's only 5 days t'ill Super Smash Bros. Brawl is released in North America! For a lot of us, that means running to the store to pickup our pre-orders. And for others, it means camping out in front of your local EBGames to be one of the first to get your hands on a copy. Either way, I'm sure distributors around the nation will be swarmed with eager fans, and for that, I salute those brave souls courageous enough to work at the gaming retailers during such a chaotic time.

On another note, the Signature Generator is currently expanding, and we are looking for graphic designers to help provide signatures/designs for the system. If you think you'd like to assist with the matter, or know someone who would be perfect for the job, then feel free to visit the following topic on our forums:
http://www.gamexe.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=1098

And for those who didn't know, our forums are also putting on a Signature of the Week contest, in which the theme is: you guessed it, Super Smash Bros. Brawl. The contest is currently in the voting stage, and if you'd like to get your opinion out on which signature you prefer, then we'd encourage you to visit the following topic:
http://www.gamexe.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=1055
(please note that registration is required in order to prevent spam)

Well, that's all for now. Expect more updates very soon, as well as a lot more content as we approach the release of the game.

New Super Smash Bros Brawl Signature Generator!
Well, the title really does say it all. A new SSBB-themed signature generator has been added to the site as we near the release of the game in North America. It's pretty nifty, and you can see an example below:

You can also give it a go by clicking on the link in the left navigation or on the preview signature above.
Enjoy.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl Avatars Page Up and Running!

Ness Info Revealed at the Smash Bros. DOJO
Today, over at Smashbros.com, they've revealed some information on Ness as an unlockable character. According to the site, he can be added to your character list by accomplishing one of three things: playing five matches in brawl, by reflecting 10 projectiles, or getting Ness to join your party in Subspace Emissary. For the first two conditions, you will also have to battle Ness to unlock him. So, it seems that he intended to be one of the first characters to be unlocked in the game, as there's no challenge behind going so.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl Character Line-up Revealed!
As Super Smash Bros. Brawl was released in Japan, it was only natural that leaks of the game would reach North America. Sure enough, the full character list has been revealed, as well as various new stages.

So, the full character list seems to be the following:

Newcomers:
Diddy Kong, Ike, King Dedede, Lucario, Lucas, Meta Knight, Pikmin & Olimar, Pit, Pokemon Trainer, R.O.B., Solid Snake, Sonic the Hedgehog, Wario and Wolf

Veterans:
Bowser, Captain Falcon, Donkey Kong, Falco Lombardi, Fox McCloud, Ganondorf, Ice Climbers, Jigglypuff, Kirby, Link, Luigi, Mario, Marth, Mr. Game & Watch, Ness, Pikachu, Princess Peach, Princess Zelda, Samus Aran, Yoshi and Young Link (cartoon link)

So, who didn't make the cut from the other Super Smash Bros games? Only Dr. Mario, Mewtwo, Pichu, Roy. The trade off of 4 characters for 14 seems reasonable though.

TheBrawl.net is Up at Last!
Yeap, TheBrawl.Net is now open to the public. What is this site, exactly? Well, if you haven't guessed already, TheBrawl.Net is about everything Super Smash Bros. Brawl: a sort of fan site. As time passes, more updates will be made, and plenty of content will be added, including videos, guides, and various other SSBB information. The goal of TheBrawl.Net is, of course, to eventually become the #1 source for Super Smash Bros. Brawl information. Not sure if we can achieve that? Well, you'll just have to wait and see. ;P
